The National Manufacturing Institute Scotland will see the development of a new world-class facility in Renfrewshire which will work collaboratively with the existing specialist technology centres.

TWI

Descended from the British Welding Research Association (BWRA), TWI have grown into one of the foremost independent research and technology organisations.

TWI span innovation, knowledge transfer and problem resolution across all aspects of welding, joining, surface engineering, inspection and whole-life integrity management.

ADVANCED NUCLEAR RESEARCH CENTRE

The ANRC work with academic and industrial partners from the UK and international nuclear community to enable them to improve operations and extend the life of existing nuclear installations.

ANRC apply research and expertise to address life cycle costs and support nuclear power as a key element of net-zero.

SPIRIT AEROSYSTEMS

Spirit AeroSystems is one of the world’s largest manufacturers of aerostructures for commercial airplanes, defense platforms, and business/regional jets.

With expertise in aluminum and advanced composite manufacturing solutions, the company’s core products include fuselages, integrated wings and wing components, pylons, and nacelles.

WAAM3D have experience of creating components for the aerospace, energy, marine and mining industries. They also support a number of Catapult centres and other research bodies that are working on the latest innovations in manufacturing.
